First post on this page should have something important to say I guess. A while back, I decided I wanted to begin writing. Along the way, it has been a bit of a grueling process as I have been having issues with what to do first. I started out with only one book in mind which quickly in my head turned to two and possibly three, then during taking a break from it I decided to try evolving an old comic idea I had in the 90's that I am trying to update and go further from the hero genre. Then a few other ideas came up, so now it's time to figure out what to do with them all. For now I am attempting to go back to the original project and will actually use this page for some of the background work that I will not include in the finished product and holding back the ones which may contain spoilers.
I have also decided, at the request of a friend, to start a story on this blog as soon as I can pertaining to the idea of zombies. I can admit I am no horror writer but I want to attempt something, therefore I will make it a running free story and would love the feedback of the people who come along and read this story, good and bad. The projects I am working on are as follows:
One Small Wish (working title)
Imagine you are given one wish, an opportunity to change one moment in your life to fix every aspect of your life. You are warned to be careful what you wish because there is no going back. For Jared Tharp, his wish comes out in his subconscious before he can even think. He awakens disoriented in the life of fame and fortune while his mind cannot figure out what is real and false. His mind refuses to adapt as it was supposed to leaving him with his old memories rather than the new life. Going home, Jared finds his best friends have become the people who hate him most, his wife went down a different road leaving their child erased from existence and the parents he honors so much are left healthier than before, but his father can no longer stand the sight of him. For Jared Tharp, his life becomes simply figuring out how to make right the things he has done wrong for the last two decades he changed and finding a life along the way while finding the life he had wasn't what he thought it was either.
Before & After The Wish
As this story has changed so much for me at this point, I have realized I need to go back and write some sections that will not be useful for the book, but for my own working of the story. Most of these stories will make little sense until the book is finished and released. To help maybe make these stories readable, I will divide them in two sections and write a quick story of what his wish changed.
Subject H-13 (working title)
Daniel White awakens one night in the desert naked and unable to remember anything. Looking around himself, he finds several bodies surrounding him with the same scarring he can see on himself. Upon finding help Daniel is quickly re-introduced to his life and memories along with horrific and painful nightmare before returning home to his life and family, his older brother Greg, his son Micah and his roommate/sister-in-law Kara. Daniel soon finds himself imbued with superhuman abilities he tries to simply learn to control while dealing with the moral ramifications of what he COULD do and SHOULD do. Before he can find his true place, Daniel finds himself and the people he loves caught between two groups who are determined to capture and control him, the covert military unit he barely escaped from in the desert and the extraterrestrial beings who seem to be linked to where he was and why he now has power.
The zombie project has no set working title or exact beginnings yet, but I will be starting it very soon once I find a way to do something different than the current trend of zombie stories.
